Customer Scholarships

Scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors and college students attending a university, post-secondary institution or vocational program in the fall term of 2026. Scholarships are $2,500 and funds are made payable to the student’s financial aid department at their selected institution. Any curriculum is eligible. This scholarship can be renewed for one year assuming customer account is in good standing and a minimum GPA of 2.7 is met.

Eligibility

An applicant must be:

• An active AgWest customer, a dependent of an active customer, or a son or daughter of an employee of an active AgWest customer (the customer or business name must be on the application in order to be considered).
• A high school senior who plans to attend college or any post-secondary institution in the fall term of 2026, or a current college student entering their sophomore, junior or senior year of college
• Enrolled at least part-time (6+ credits)
• A U.S. citizen or legal resident of the United States
• Not be a previous AgWest scholarship winner

Grandchildren of AgWest customers or customer employees are not eligible. Children or grandchildren of AgWest employees or board members are not eligible.

High school students must be:

• A 2026 high school graduate; and
• Planning to attend any higher-education institution in the fall term of 2026.

College students must be:

• A 2026 fall term sophomore, junior or senior enrolled in a higher education institution
• Enrolled in a part-time schedule (6+ credits)

What you need to do

1. Obtain a copy of your high school or college transcript and save it as a PDF, using the following naming convention for the filename:  Firstname-Lastname-Transcript.pdf (for example: Sam-Smith-Transcript.pdf). Unofficial photocopies of your transcript are acceptable.
2. Write an essay. An essay helps the judges learn more about you and your future life plans.
   Essay Instructions
   • The essay should be at least a page (no more than two) in length, discussing the following essay question:
     
     Describe your goals and why you want to pursue a college education. What is your desired career after obtaining your degree?
   • Save your essay as a PDF, using the following naming convention for the filename:  Firstname-Lastname-Essay.pdf (for example: Sam-Smith-Essay.pdf).
3. Fill out the online AgWest Customer Scholarship Application form and attach your PDF files.

Notification of recipients

All applicants will be notified by email regarding the status of their application on or before May 15, 2026.
